Effect of Revegetation in Extremely Degraded Grassland on Carbon Density in Alpine Permafrost Regions

Revegetation has been proposed as an effective approach to restoring the extremely degraded grassland in Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau (QTP). However, little is known about effect of revegetation on ecosystem carbon density (ECD), especially alpine permafrost regions. We compared aboveground biomass (ABCD), belowground (BBCD), soil organic (SOCD), and ECD intact meadow, degraded, revegetated grasslands, well their influencing factors. Our results indicated that (1) ABCD, BBCD, SOCD, were significantly lower than meadow; (2) increased by 93.46%, 16.88%, 19.22%, respectively; (3) stepwise regression BBCD was mainly influenced special gravity, SOCD controlled freeze–thaw strength temperature, respectively. This study provides a comprehensive survey basic data for assessing service functions regions QTP.
